Glass Fiber Testing

Glass fiber is an inorganic non-metallic material manufactured from raw materials such as pyrophyllite and quartz sand through processes including high-temperature melting and drawing. The diameter of a single filament ranges from a few microns to over twenty microns (approximately 1/20 to 1/5 of a human hair). It features high strength, temperature resistance, dimensional stability, insulating properties, and flame retardancy. The global average annual growth rate of glass fiber production is 1.5 to 2 times the GDP growth rate. China‘s GDP growth rate (6%) drives downstream demand in sectors such as wind power, construction, and electronics. Global glass fiber production capacity is concentrating in China. In 2022, the combined production capacity of Jushi Group, Taishan Fiberglass (Sinoma), and Chongqing Polycomp International Corporation (CPIC) accounted for 63% of the national total, creating significant economies of scale.
