Recently, CTC Suzhou Company successfully held a technical exchange meeting on the qualification of sealing materials for the UK HPC Nuclear Power Project. MASERO VINCENT, nuclear expert from Électricité de France (EDF); Wang Liyang, Deputy Chief Engineer of Project Design at the Design Institute of China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd.; Ke Lei, Vice Chairman of Hailong Nuclear Materials; and Peng Chao, Assistant to the General Manager of CTC, Party Committee Secretary and Executive Director of the East China Materials Business Division (Suzhou Company), gathered on site to witness this important occasion.

At the meeting, CTC Suzhou Company introduced its development history, business layout, and its recent achievements and technological breakthroughs in the field of nuclear power material testing. It focused on the specialized qualification tests for sealing materials, providing comprehensive and in-depth technical sharing from experimental design and process control to data interpretation, fully demonstrating its professional capabilities. The attending experts conducted an on-site inspection of the company’s core testing facilities and highly recognized its standardized testing system, advanced equipment, and rigorous scientific approach. They unanimously agreed that Suzhou Company has demonstrated outstanding professionalism and reliability in test tooling, evaluation technology, and experimental data.

As the UK’s first new nuclear power project in nearly three decades, the UK HPC Nuclear Power Project is jointly invested and constructed by China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN) and Électricité de France (EDF), with a total investment exceeding GBP 24 billion. It imposes world-class stringent standards on the safety, stability, and resistance to extreme operating conditions of core materials. Once completed, the project will provide clean electricity to approximately 6 million households. Currently, Suzhou Company has officially signed the sealing material testing contract for the project. It will build a strong technical barrier for material safety control for the nuclear power project and continue to safeguard the safe advancement of the project.

In recent years, CTC has focused on high-end engineering fields such as nuclear power, deepening the R&D and industrialization of new material testing technologies. This technical exchange not only demonstrated its professional strength in the nuclear power testing field but also laid a solid foundation for subsequently expanding into the overseas nuclear power testing market and supporting Chinese nuclear power technology in “going global.”
