On September 3, the 2026 World Power Battery Conference was held in Yibin, Sichuan. With the theme of “Powering All Things · Integration and Coexistence,” the conference focused on core areas of the power battery industry, including policy, technology, application, international cooperation, recycling, and quality standards, aiming to promote green, coordinated, and high-quality development of the industry. Zhu Lianbin, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of CTC, was invited to attend the conference’s series of events and deeply participated in the co-construction of the industry’s green supply chain. Liu Yi, General Manager of the Certification and Evaluation Center, accompanied him at the conference.

The special activities of this conference were jointly initiated by China Resources Recycling Group and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), focusing on the two major resource recycling fields of steel and power batteries. Through thematic discussions, cooperation initiatives, and action launches, the events brought together forces from government, enterprises, academia, and research institutions to advance the construction of a green supply chain system, align with international green rules, and explore pathways for low-carbon innovative development of the industry.

At the seminar on the construction of green supply chains in the steel and battery industries, all parties held in-depth discussions on topics such as industry standard development, mutual recognition of international rules, industrial chain coordination, and pilot implementation, building consensus and refining implementation pathways, thereby laying a solid foundation for the launch of the green supply chain construction initiative.

Zhu Lianbin expressed his gratitude for the trust and support of China Resources Recycling Group. He stated that CTC has been deeply involved in the project’s preliminary planning and implementation. In May of this year, CTC joined a delegation to Vienna to participate in the signing of the project’s joint statement. At present, CTC is actively participating in the preparation of the project document, focusing on research for the standard system construction for scrap steel and retired power batteries, as well as carbon footprint research and carbon asset development in the resource recycling field. He proposed that project implementation should balance the improvement of the standard system with practical application, accelerate the construction of a supporting certification system, improve evaluation and implementation mechanisms, and focus on overcoming challenges such as quality determination of recycled materials and quantitative accounting of low-carbon attributes. CTC will cooperate under the coordination of China Resources Recycling Group and work with all parties to fill the gaps in resource recycling standards and certification, supporting the standardized and high-quality development of the industry.

At the meeting, China Resources Recycling Group, CTC, Beijing Institute of Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China Circular Economy Association, China National Resources Recycling Association, Beijing Green Exchange, Tianjin Eco-City Investment Holding Group, and other organizations jointly launched a green supply chain cooperation initiative. All parties will leverage their respective strengths to carry out in-depth and practical cooperation in scientific research, low-carbon leadership, and ecological co-construction.

At the launch ceremony of the Green Supply Chain Construction Action for the battery industry, Zhu Lianbin participated together with representatives from China Resources Recycling Group, UNIDO, the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, industry associations, leading enterprises, and pilot regions. The action focuses on four major directions: policy innovation, standard construction, database development, and international cooperation platform building. It will implement pilot demonstrations in multiple regions, open up the full lifecycle circular loop of power batteries, and create a standardized, digital, and intelligent, and internationalized green supply chain ecosystem.

Next, CTC will continue to leverage its integrated technical advantages in inspection and testing, quality certification, and standard development, actively promote project implementation, and focus on key areas such as identification of recycled raw materials, carbon footprint accounting, low-carbon certification, and green standard R&D. It will help the steel, battery, and other industrial chains reduce carbon emissions and improve quality, contributing professional strength to the high-quality and internationalized development of China’s circular economy.
